The focus is to spread awareness of the importance of the VT in the field of veterinary medicine, being an advocate of fairness to the profession, supplying relevant education opportunities for their professional development.
During 2026, we are offering a special Introductory VT Membership rate of $45. Below is the requirement for the VT membership and the benefits of joining:

Further, CVMA has a Mental Health Program at no cost to members and their families. This is a referral program–referred to the right person for specific needs. The Mental Health professional does not charge beyond what the members’ insurance covers. Current members can learn more in the Member Portal in the Member Value-Added Benefits folder.
VT Membership Programming
CVMA has developed a VT Program Task force to create a meaningful program to meet the needs of the Veterinary Technician. The VT Task Force is composed of veterinarians and experienced VTs developing concepts to spread awareness to the public and to veterinarians of the important roles that VTs have. Further, the VT Task Force and the Education Committee collaborated to bring premier continuing education RACE approved courses to VTs at Chicago venues as well as through remote education tools. CVMA has added a VT Corner to its electronic monthly newsletter, VetConnectChicago including current information regarding VTs, their roles in the field of veterinary medicine, and relevant articles on key topics.
