Synergy Surgical Veterinary Student Scholarship
In partnership with the Chicago Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA).
CVMA is proud to support the next generation of Veterinarians through Synergy Surgical Certified Veterinary Student Scholarships. Three scholarships of $1,500 each will be awarded to qualified applicants who demonstrate academic excellence, the desire to make meaningful contributions to the veterinary profession, and a commitment to continued professional development.
Scholarship Award
Recipients will receive:
- $1,500 towards their studies
- Recognition at the CVMA 130th Anniversary Luncheon on December 16, 2026, from noon-1:30pm at the Brookfield Zoo
- Complimentary registration for a CVMA U continuing education course
- Complimentary CVMA 2027 membership
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be on track to graduate from an AVMA-accredited veterinary program.
- Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Be members of the CVMA. A complimentary membership is available to students and recent graduates. Membership applications can be found on the CVMA website.
Application Requirements
Applicants will electronically submit:
- Contact information
- Veterinary school attended
- Official veterinary school transcript if available
- A 500–800 word essay addressing one of the following topics:
- Explain why you chose to become a veterinarian.
- Explain how your personal experiences and background have shaped the perspective you bring to veterinary medicine.
- Describe how you hope to give back to the veterinary profession or your community as a veterinarian.
- One letter of recommendation on official letterhead from an instructor or employer.
