Hello, CVMA members:
I am excited to be a part of the CVMA team. I look forward to supporting the organization to develop relevant programming to position for a strong future.
We are currently working on the following initiatives:
1. Education: The Continuing Education Committee and staff have developed the 2026 CE Education Program schedule which includes expert speakers in specific specialty areas. We are also discussing synchronous and asynchronous strategies to present best-in-class online education programs in 2026 in addition to our in-person courses. As these are developed, we will share the details.
2. Value-Added Benefits: We heard what you wanted and have responded. We have added several benefits for our members. These include attorneys, general discounts for goods and tickets, a mental health program, vendor special pricing, and more. These may be accessed in the member portal at www.Chicagovma.org. 3. 130th Chicago Veterinary Medical Association: CVMA is pleased to be celebrating its 130th anniversary in the Fall of 2026. With a respected history and a bright future ahead, we will be having a celebration of this milestone. We are currently planning this event. Stay tuned for more information.
4. Monthly newsletters: We will be sending monthly newsletters to members and potential members to share what is happening at CVMA, to spotlight professionals and current events,and to keep the communication current.
5. Website: We have updated our website to help you navigate our programs and offerings. When you have a chance, visit our site to see what we have in place to fulfill the mission of the organization.
6. Sponsorships: We are developing new sponsorship levels to roll out in 2026 with companies that have a passion for caring for animals. The current sponsorships may be found at www.Chicagovma.org. If you would like to discuss opportunities to support CVMA or have suggestions regarding potential sponsors for us to contact, please let me know at mcohen@chicagovma.org or at 630.325.1231.
