As we enter into Spring, I would like to encourage us all to take advantage of the rising temperatures by going outside, being active and putting our own mental health and physical health first.
As a new mother, full time practicing veterinarian and CVMA Board President, I find it extremely challenging to put myself first, or even second or third. However, studies have shown and proven that we are more efficient and thorough workers and more engaging and present parents when we take better care of ourselves. I encourage you all to take 15-30 minutes a day for yourselves, with mindful meditation, a nice walk outdoors or a quick workout session. Hopefully it will put a new “Spring in your step”!
