Dear Members,

It is my great honor to serve as your CVMA Board President for 2023, a year which I hope brings a sense of renewal and energy back into our lives. We have all suffered from a variety of stresses over the past few years and as we reacclimate to the new normalcy, I hope we will all find it in ourselves to recommit to our veterinary community and profession while continuing to value our self-care.

This balance is not easy to achieve, and as a new mother I can say it is always a work in progress. Mental health has been an issue in our profession for a long time, and has finally been getting the attention it deserves. This year, the CVMA will continue to strengthen our focus on self-care and mental health by working on creating new mental health resources for our members.

A sense of community is also a wonderful way to cultivate positive health, and I encourage you all to reach out to a CVMA Committee which calls to you. Meeting with fellow veterinarians who share your values and passions can prove a valuable resource for you both personally and professionally. Please reach out to our office if you would like to be put in touch with a Committee Chair to get involved today.

I hope to serve to well as your new CVMA President and wish you and your families a safe, healthy and happy 2023.

Sincerely,

Dr. Marina Jaworsky
