Elk Grove Veterinary Specialty & Emergency is looking to add a full time emergency clinician to our already AMAZING team! Located less than thirty miles Northwest of the city of Chicago, this location is ideal for offering the benefits of living close to an exhilarating city yet minimizing the headaches of city life. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a twenty-four hour emergency service, currently staffed with five dedicated emergency clinicians. Our caseload is growing and we are expanding!

The right individual would have strong communication and organizational skills, with a teamwork mindset and positive attitude. An emphasis would be placed on expanding and nurturing relationships with the referral partner community, while providing an exceptional client experience with phenomenal patient care. An ability to provide surgical services for routine emergency surgical procedures (i.e. Foreign Body, C-Sections / Pyometras, GDV, & Hemoabdomen) is required.

The right candidate would join our team of emergency clinicians who provide twenty-four hour emergency on-site coverage seven days a week, as well as, our internist and medical oncologist. Doctors are supported by an amazing group of dedicated technicians, client service representatives, and management team with many years of veterinary medicine experience. Recruiting efforts are currently underway to achieve full time surgery, neurology, cardiology and other specialty services.

Our hospital is an 8,000 square foot facility, recently remodeled. Our facilities our equipped with an on-site in-house laboratories, allowing for immediate blood gas analysis (Abaxis i-STAT), CBC, biochemical, and coagulation analyses to be performed. Ancillary laboratory diagnostics also include in house cortisol and bile acids. Digital radiography, ultrasonography, and a 16 slice Toshiba CT scan are located onsite and facilitate a complete patient evaluation. A Snyder oxygen cage, doppler blood pressure monitoring, and ECG monitoring are also available to facilitate patient care. Our specialty equipment includes both flexible and rigid endoscopy, allowing for the following to be performed: Esophagoscopy, Gastroscopy, Esophagogastroduodenoscopy, Colonoscopy, Rhinoscopy, and Cystoscopy. Laparoscopy will be coming in the next few months!!

Elk Grove Veterinary Specialty & Emergency has joined forces with Pathway Vet Alliance to support our clinicians and the leadership team, while allowing our hospital to maintain our own individual culture. In addition, we are permitted to practice medicine that makes sense for our clinicians and patients. However, you are welcome to develop and/or update medical protocols for our hospital with the support and collaboration of almost two hundred hospitals within the Pathway organization.
