Dr. Linda Kopjia
Dr. Linda Kopija graduated from the University Of Illinois College Of Veterinary Medicine in 1991 and has practiced here at Hobson Valley Animal Clinic since April of 2015. She brings considerable experience from her over 24 years of experience working in the Chicago area. Besides providing medical and surgical care for various veterinary hospitals, Dr. Kopija was also involved with shelter medicine, helping recued animals become healthy adopted pets.
Dr. Kopija has a special interest in surgery. Besides her substantial surgical skills, her strengths are her compassion for people and their pets and her strong diagnostic skills. Dr. Linda is hard working and competent. (and she’s just a genuinely nice person)
Dr. Linda describes herself as a dog person which doesn’t fully explain why she has 5 cats and until recently, no dogs. Actually as recently as 2012, Dr. Kopija also had 5 dogs. In summer of 2016, Dr. Linda added an 8 year old Bichon named Bonnie to her family of pets. Bonnie’s 90 year old caretaker sadly was unable to care for Bonnie anymore but was relieved to know Bonnie (or BonBon as she is affectionately called by the staff at Hobson Valley) found a good home with Dr. Kopija. Many, if not all of Dr. Linda’s pets have been recues with significant medical problems.
Dr. Linda is an active member of The Chicago Veterinary Medical Association, chairing the CVMA Animal Welfare Committee and is on the board of the Chicago Veterinary Medical Foundation. She has volunteered for Pets For Life, Community Outreach Program and did field work in Nicaraqua and Belize for World Vets.
