PART or FULL-TIME VETERINARIAN FOR SUBURBAN CHICAGO HOSPITAL

If you are interested in a relaxed, professional, busy environment and you enjoy working with a competent, skilled, compassionate, and cohesive staff, look no further. If you have an interest in participating in the decision making management and clinical advancement of the hospital coupled with enhancing and continuing to cultivate the long-term relationships we have with our clients and each other, then this opportunity may be for you.

We are a full service small animal hospital in a quiet and small near southeast suburb of Chicago. Our middle income clientele come from our neighborhood as well as parts of Chicago as well as southeast and southwest Chicago suburbs. Additionally we service other neighboring communities and cities near over the Indiana border - Hammond, Whiting, and Munster. Commute from Chicago and travel against the traffic to and from work while enjoying what Chicago has to offer. Shop in Indiana after work and enjoy a lower tax rate; or enjoy a lower cost of living in Indiana, and take a short trip to Chicago at your leisure.

Our hospital hours, staff hours, and referrals for emergency services compliment the life balance we strive for for our staff. Our hospital is equipped with a pharmacy, full in-house lab services, a surgical suite, full anesthesia monitoring equipment, dental units, basic ultrasound unit, digital radiography, cryotherapy, laser therapy, and tele-medicine services for ECG and radiography consultation. We offer boarding for our clients and professional grooming services. We maintain relationships with local orthopedic surgeons and a boarded cardiologist in addition to local specialty hospitals and neighboring emergency facilities. Client education, continuing education, and personal professional development are an important part of the relationships we foster with the staff and our clients.

We encourage strong communication and leadership skills while appreciating and embracing the cooperative, team-oriented focus that makes our practice a success. We value life balance, compassionate care of our patients, thoroughness and thoughtful assessment of cases, and professional support for our clients. We are looking for an individual who is energetic, personable, flexible and team oriented (yet maintain an ability to think independently), able to multi-task through the day, be organized, self-motivated, and interested in a part or full time position at a progressive veterinary hospital.

We welcome and support any interest in career advancement such as developing new skills for new services for our clients. Career advancement towards ownership, partnership, or non-management status are welcomed long-term outcomes for the right individual. Our primary preference is to hire a colleague who is interested in cultivating a long-term relationship more than 2-3 years at the hospital in an effort to maintain the continuity our clients have had comfort in for many years. Experience in wellness medicine, internal medicine, surgery (routine OVH, neuter, declaw, tail docks, GI, cystotomy, pyometra, exploratory, and some mass removals represent the majority) and general dentistry is desired but we are willing to mentor a dedicated and enthusiastic colleague.

Salary is negotiable, commensurate with desired status, experience, and skills.
